How to Call Coyotes in 20 MPH Plus Winds

Uriah and I went out Saturday to try and get a coyote hunt on film. Once we arrived at the location we discovered that the wind was out of control. The wind was blowing at over 20 miles an hour. We usually don’t hunt coyotes in this kind of wind. We then decided that we had traveled too far to just give up.

Recently MOJO Outdoors teamed up with Bucking The Odds to shoot a predator hunting episode. Uriah and I definitely learned a lot from these guys. As a result we will be upgrading our video equipment. This was one of my more memorable coyote hunts. Terry Denmon is a true professional. Without hesitation the cameraman Mike Morgan could point the camera at Terry and say something like “explain the hunt”, and Terry would just start flowing commentary. Uriah and I usually have to think for a few minutes… This could just be, well never mind…

Coyote Problems in Colorado

Colorado is like many other states! Due to the fact the environmentalist have all but eliminated trapping, coyotes have no natural predators. Hunters are lucky to put a small dent in the coyote populations, so now the coyotes are attacking city dwellers and probably eating the pets of the same environmentalist that try to say coyotes aren’t a threat. From the outside looking in, coyote must look like cute Little dog to an environmentalist…
